Privacy Policy

Pull Tab Finder is a directory of licensed charitable gaming locations. We built it to need as little of your data as possible. No account is required to use the app, and we never collect your name or contacts. Nothing we collect is sold or used for advertising.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device's location for two things: centering the map near you, and recording whether you were at a venue when you confirmed or corrected it (on-site reports carry more weight). Map searches send the coordinates of your current map view to our servers to return nearby locations; those coordinates are used to answer the search and are not stored. We do not build a history of your position. If you add a missing location, the pin coordinates you place become part of that venue's public listing. You can use the map and search without granting location access.

Community fixes and additions

When you suggest a fix, confirm pull tabs at a venue, or add a location, we store the change, a timestamp, and a random identifier created by the app for your device. The identifier is used for rate limiting and moderation, and so your contributions stay with you if you reinstall the app. On iPhone, the app keeps a copy of the identifier in your device's secure storage. On Android, the app sends us a one-way hashed form of the ID that Android assigns to this app on your phone, which we store only to give a reinstalled app its identifier back. None of this is tied to your name, email, phone number, or any account, and we make no attempt to connect it to you.

Rounds

If you log a round, we store the amounts you enter, the venue, and the time with that same random identifier, so your history shows on the You tab and comes back if you reinstall. What you spent and won is never shown to other players. A winners-left tip you add is shared with other players at that venue. Round amounts are also counted in our app analytics, which are not linked to your identity.

If you share a win, the amount, the game name and type if you add them, the venue, and the time become public: they appear on that venue's page in the app and on a share page on this website, with no name attached. We store them with your app's random identifier so you can remove your own wins and so we can stop abuse. What you spent is never part of a shared win. Wins can be reported by other players, and we remove ones that break our rules.

Photos

If you post a photo of the machines or of a win, the app shrinks it and saves a new copy before sending it, which drops the location and camera details a phone photo carries, and our server re-saves it again. We store it privately with your app's random identifier and show it only to you until we've reviewed it. Once approved, it appears on that venue's page and, for a win, on its share page, with no name attached. A photo you add to a shared win also goes, from your phone, to whatever app you pick in the share menu.

You can remove your own photos in the app. Removed photos, and ones we take down, are deleted within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep one we reported as illegal. The app asks for the camera only when you choose to take a photo, and picking from your photos uses the phone's own picker, which shares only the photo you pick.

Feedback

If you send feedback from the app or the website's contact form, we store your message. Including an email address is optional; if you add one, we use it only to reply. The contact form keeps a random identifier in your browser, used only to limit how many messages can be sent in an hour.

Crash reports and analytics

The app uses Google Firebase for crash reporting, performance monitoring, and usage analytics (for example, which screens are used and how often). This data includes device information and app-instance identifiers, is not linked to your identity, and is retained by Firebase for limited periods (crash data about 90 days, analytics up to 14 months). The app contains no ads and no advertising identifiers.

Third-party services

Maps are rendered by the Google Maps Platform, which processes map interactions under Google's privacy policy. The website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic.

Waitlist

If you join the list on our website, we store the email address you provide and use it only to tell you about Pull Tab Finder news. Ask us to remove it at any time.

Deleting your data

You can ask us to erase anything above at any time. See Delete Your Data for the steps, what gets removed, and timelines.

Age

Pull Tab Finder is intended for adults of legal charitable gaming age (18+ in most states) and is not directed at children.

Selling data

We do not sell your personal information. Full stop.
